Taipei is easiest when each day follows one or two MRT corridors. Separate heritage districts, modern city views and day trips, and keep museums or malls ready for rain.
Seasons and packing
Summers are hot, humid and stormy; winters can feel damp and cool. Check official weather and transport notices, and keep plans flexible during typhoon season.
City areas
Combine Zhongzheng with Dadaocheng for culture, Xinyi with the East District for shopping and views, and Beitou for a hot-spring half day. Give Jiufen, Tamsui or the north coast enough time.

MRT and buses cover most visits. A hotel near an interchange is convenient. Suburban buses can be crowded on holidays, so allow extra time in both directions.
